I was a customer first

Some say that dogs and cats are family. This is definitely true in my house, and we understand when so many others feel the same way. Did you know that ⅔ of the households in Colorado
have dogs, and more than ¼ own cats? Some have both, and some have 2 dogs or more – like us.

This is the story of how I became the founder and CEO of bath. cut. brush. Three years ago we had gotten tired of taking our sensitive chocolate lab to the groomer at a large pet supply store. She really didn’t like being around other dogs besides the ones who lived in our home, and we were very much aware of her anxiety. Not to mention trying to get her through a store to the groomers with so many temptations on the way, and other pets provoking her to bark. It felt impossible. I also didn’t know how long my dog was going to be there, as they simply called you when they were finished. Sometimes it was 5 or 6 hours, and the minute we were outside – you guessed it, she had to “go.”

I finally decided to search for a mobile groomer, and after three phone calls to owner/operators who were busy for months, I found one who could come the next day. Not realizing at the time that there was a fleet of vans behind the availability of my appointment. It made total sense. After about a year and a half of successful appointments with multiple groomers at this business, I started to doing their marketing through my marketing agency, Shepherd Marketing. We had so much success in another 18 months, that I invested in the business and started a new brand as well. You guessed it – bath. cut. brush.

Our first franchise owner is a reservist in the military and 3X business owner in Northern Colorado. Her business acumen as a private banker only increased her ability to get started and grow quickly with the help of her team. She was awarded her first bath. cut. brush. territory in April 2023.

By August 2023 our first franchise partner opened in Northern Colorado, serving Berthoud, Boulder, Dacono, Erie, Evans, Firestone, Frederick, Gilcrest, Greeley, Johnstown, Lafayette, La Salle, Longmont, Mead, Milliken and Platteville. Through our pre-opening marketing program, she had a waiting list of about 100 clients ready for an appointment as soon as the first van arrived. Now with two vans gassed up and ready to go, bath. cut. brush. Northern Colorado can serve twice the amount of pets, and we are expanding and excited for the future!
